# Installation Guide

Windows Installation

  1. Download the installer from our download page
  2. Run TDSTask-Setup.exe as administrator
  3. Follow the setup wizard instructions
  4. Launch TDSTask from the Start Menu
  5. Activate your license (Help > Enter License Key)
Note: Requires .NET Framework 4.8 (will install automatically if missing)

macOS Installation

  1. Download TDSTask.dmg from our download page
  2. Open the disk image and drag TDSTask to Applications
  3. Right-click the app and select "Open" (first time only)
  4. Follow any security prompts
  5. Activate your license (TDSTask > Enter License Key)

# User Interface Overview

Main Components

1. Navigation Panel

Access all major features: Dashboard, Returns, Deductees, Reports, and Tools

2. Quick Access Toolbar

Frequently used actions like New Return, Save, and Print

3. Workspace Area

Primary area for data entry and form preparation

4. Status Bar

Displays current company, FY, and compliance alerts

# Return Preparation

Creating a New Return

  1. Go to Returns > New Return
  2. Select Form Type (24Q, 26Q, 27Q, or 27EQ)
  3. Choose Financial Year and Quarter
  4. Enter basic details (TAN, PAO details if applicable)
  5. Click Create to initialize the return

Adding Deductees

Three methods to add deductees:

1. Manual Entry

Use the Deductee grid to enter details one-by-one

2. Excel Import

Import from pre-formatted Excel templates

3. Previous Return

Copy deductees from earlier filings

Tip: Use PAN Verification (Tools menu) to validate PANs before submission

# TRACES Integration

Connecting to TRACES

  1. Go to TRACES > Login
  2. Enter your TRACES credentials (DSC or username/password)
  3. Once authenticated, you can:
    • Download Conso Files
    • Fetch Challan Status
    • Submit Returns Directly
    • Download Certificates

Troubleshooting TRACES Connection

Ensure you're using the correct TRACES credentials. Note:

  • DSC users must have valid e-filing credentials
  • Password is case-sensitive
  • Check CAPS LOCK key status

  1. Ensure DSC token is properly inserted
  2. Install emBridge utility from TRACES website
  3. Restart TDSTask after DSC driver installation
